Professional advantages and characteristics: Combining with our school’s advantage in the information technology, with industry demand oriented, practical ability training as the focus, on methods of the combination of industry, study and research, keep up with the latest development trends in mechanical electronic field. On the other hand, outstanding the intersection of disciplines of mechanical, electronic, computer, instrument and control, training of the engineering application of professional and technical personnel with strong ability of system design, development, manufacture, operation and maintenance for industrial robot, special robot.

The professional based in Southwest China, for the needs of the informative construction of different areas of China's economic and social development, combined with the construction of an innovative society, to cultivate engineering application of professional and technical personnel with good natural and humanities and social science foundation, foreign language application ability, solid mechanical and electronic engineering theory and knowledge, with the innovation consciousness, environmental protection energy-saving awareness, team spirit, social responsibility sense and engineering professional ethics, with strong ability to access to knowledge and comprehensive application of knowledge to solve practical engineering problems.

All cultivated graduates with lifelong learning ability, international vision in the fields of the mechanical and electrical system design and manufacturing, industrial robots and special robot in enterprises, research institutes and other institutions, comprehensive use of the theory and technology to be engaged in technology development, new products and new system design and application, system and device management and related work.
